Dyson OnTrac Headphones
These are Dyson’s first-ever audio-only headphones. They offer active noise cancellation and up to 55 hours of battery life, plus connect to a companion app that allows you to adjust their settings. The over-ear headphones also have built-in microphones and a joystick you can tap to pause or play music, fast forward and rewind. Dyson designed its OnTrac headphones to be highly customizable, too. You can swap out their ear cushions and exterior caps, which come in various colors, materials and finishes.
Shokz OpenRun Pro 2
Shokz recently updated one of our favorite pairs of open-ear headphones. The OpenRun Pro 2 transmits sound waves through the bones in your skull instead of your ear canal and offers more noise reduction and overall clearer sound compared to previous models. The headphones also offer 12 hours of battery life and a 5-minute quick charge option that gives you 2.5 hours of power. Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 comes in standard and mini sizes.
Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen.)
The newest model of Google’s smart thermostat still has its signature rotating bangle, but it’s now designed with a borderless crystal lens display. The thermostat integrates AI technology that learns your routines to identify consistent changes and gives you opportunities to accept its suggested schedule adjustments before they happen. The device, which you can control via a companion app, also now tracks how outdoor weather impacts your home.
Google TV Streamer (pre-order)
This month, Google announced that it’s no longer making its Chromecast streaming devices and replacing them with the Google TV Streamer, which is currently available to pre-order. The device gives you access to streaming apps to watch your favorite shows and movies in 4K HDR picture quality and browse live TV with 800+ free channels. The TV Streamer comes with a voice remote.
Samsung Galaxy tech
During Samsung Galaxy Unpacked this year, the brand released the latest generations of the Galaxy Z Fold phone, Galaxy Z Flip phone, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds, plus announced two brand new items: the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Ring.
- The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 are the slimmest and lightest phones in Samsung’s Z series, according to the brand. They have upgraded dual screens that are now more durable and offer better visibility across the crease, as well as come equipped with Samsung’s Galaxy AI.
- The Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra have new advanced GPS systems that more precisely track your workouts in outdoor environments. For the first time, you can also track metrics that contribute to metabolic health. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung’s most durable smartwatch model yet, thanks to its titanium design, and it has the longest-lasting battery compared to the brand’s other smartwatches.
- The Galaxy Ring is Samsung’s first wearable device. It helps you track your sleep, workouts and other health metrics and estimates your overall Energy Score. A full charge gives you up to seven days of battery life.
- The Galaxy Buds3 collection includes a standard and pro model. Samsung updated the wireless earbuds’ shape to be more comfortable while you wear them, and enhanced their audio quality.
Sony ZV-E10 II
This mirrorless camera is the second generation of Sony’s ZV-E10 model, and it’s specifically designed with content creators in mind. It has many of the same features as the first generation, including a vari-angle flip screen and background defocus setting, but offers improved internal hardware and an upgraded battery. It’s small enough to fit in users’ hands, according to the brand, and easy to travel with. The camera lets you live stream directly from it with 5 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity.
Beauty and skin care launches
Loops The Skincare Essentials Collection
Loops, which makes some of our favorite under-eye patches, released a four-step skin care routine that includes a cleanser, toner, peptide serum and moisturizer. But unlike their typical formulations, these products come in soaked biodegradable bamboo pads.
Bianca Alvarez, NBC Select associate editor, has been trying Loops’ skin care pads for two weeks. She’s a fan of how gentle they are and how easy the skin care routine is to follow. “It’s a comprehensive routine that checks off every box in terms of the things you might need,” she says. “All I do is swipe the pads across my face and neck, and I’m all set. It’s also perfect for travel since it’s not liquid, so I can bring it with me on vacations and when I go back home for weekend trips.”
In addition to the pads, the brand also released a wrapping mask as part of the collection. It’s an overnight peel-off mask that lifts and firms the skin and promotes elasticity by stimulating the skin’s collagen production, according to the brand.
Vichy Laboratoires Minéral 89 48H Moisture Matte Sorbet
Moisturizers often leave your skin with a glowy, dewy complexion, but this gentle gel cream from Vichy has a matte effect. The lightweight, fragrance-free formula is also cooling, leaving skin feeling refreshed — in fact, it can cool the skin by up to 3 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the brand. The moisturizer hydrates, strengthens the skin barrier and absorbs excess oil, too, so it’s ideal for those with combination and oily skin.
Avène Cicalfate+ Intensive Skin Restorative Serum
This serum from Avène performs all the essential functions of barrier creams but is lightweight and suitable for all skin types, including very sensitive skin. The fragrance-free milky serum uses TRP-Regulin and Avène thermal spring water to soothe discomfort and reduce sensitivity, while pro-vitamin B5 strengthens and hydrates the barrier.
Strivectin Super-C Night Vitamin C Cream
While we typically use vitamin C in daytime skin care products, Strivectin has this staple in its newest night cream. The moisturizer evens skin tone (by reducing dark spots and discoloration), brightens dull skin and improves overall radiance, according to the brand. While it can do so with its star ingredient (vitamin C), it also multitasks and combats other skin care concerns overnight. Its formula includes kojic acid to improve texture, ferulic acid to allow the skin to repair and pineapple ceramides to moisturize and smooth skin.
Topicals Faded Brightening Cleansing Bar
Adding to its Faded lineup, the brand released this cleansing bar, which focuses on cleansing and brightening the skin by fading dark spots and discoloration without drying or irritating it. Think of it as the Topicals Faded Brightening Serum in bar soap form without the sulfuric acid smell. This fragrance-free cleanser is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, dry and acne-prone skin and uses six active ingredients to leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated post-showering.
Osea Undaria Algae Body Wash
This seaweed body wash gently cleanses and softens the skin using plant-based surfactants while supporting the skin barrier. One of its essential characteristics is that it’s pH-balanced, meaning it continues the efforts of maintaining the integrity of your skin by avoiding an imbalance (dryness, irritation and a broken barrier) and instead causes the skin to have a more soft and hydrated look and feel, according to the brand. It’s made for all skin types and has a natural fragrance with notes of grapefruit, lime, mango and mandarin.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Soothing Hydration Mist
Summer Fridays expanded the Jet Lag collection with its first-ever facial mist. The ultra-fine mist has moisturizing, skin-soothing, barrier-supporting, and protective ingredients, which cause the skin to appear and feel glowy, dewy, moisturized, and hydrated. You can use this as one of the first steps in your skin care routine, after makeup, or as a refresher for your skin throughout the day. Summer Fridays also launched a new Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum.
Tower 28 GetSet Powder
Continuing in its efforts to make beauty products for all skin types, Tower 28 introduced this pressed powder to its lineup. Its alcohol and talc-free formula has kaolin clay, squalane and hydrophobic silica to hydrate the skin, control shine and repel sweat, according to the brand. The lightweight and breathable powder is available in four shades: Translucent Trestles, Palisades Pink (fair to medium skin tones), Balboa Banana (medium to dark skin tones) and Hermosa Honey (medium-dark to deep skin tones).
“Finally, there’s a powder for the dry skin community that doesn’t make things worse for us,” says Alvarez, who tried the powder for a few weeks before the official launch. “Since it’s so hot outside, I’m constantly sweating off my makeup, so I find myself reaching for this powder because it actually sets it, still leaves my skin feeling like skin and doesn’t make my face look flat and one-note. While these are all great qualities in a pressed powder, my favorite part is that it doesn’t emphasize my dry eczema patches.”
Glossier Crème de You
This rich and creamy body moisturizer combines shea butter and jojoba oils to smooth, soften and hydrate the skin. The cream is formulated with an NBC Select staff favorite scent — Glossier You Eau de Parfum — with notes of pink pepper, iris, ambrette and ambrox. Despite its added fragrance, the dermatologist-tested moisturizer is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, according to the brand.
Merit Great Skin Priming Lotion
Merit’s new fragrance-free, lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer also acts as a primer, helping you prep your skin before applying makeup. It’s made with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin, as well as soothing oat extract and the brand’s blend of peptides. The lotion has a matte finish and absorbs into the skin very quickly, says Malin, who has been trying it since the brand sent it to her earlier this month. “It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all and I only need to use a little pump when I apply it,” she says. “The bottle also looks really nice in my bathroom because of the gold details, so that’s an added bonus.”
Mario Badescu Repairing Facial Spray with Hypochlorous Acid
Hypochlorous acid is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and antimicrobial activity, which means it can kill bacteria, viruses and fungi, according to Mario Badescu. With these benefits in mind, the brand created a hypochlorous acid spray to tackle a variety of skin concerns. You can use it on acne, eczema, rosacea and psoriasis, as well as to treat razor burns, minor burns, diaper rash and body odor. You can also incorporate the spray into tattoo and piercing aftercare.

Shark Beauty blow dryers
Shark Beauty SpeedStyle Pro (pre-order)
Shark makes some of our favorite hair tools, including its original SpeedStyle. This upgraded version of the brand’s hair dryer lets you style straight or wavy hair while maintaining its shine and volume. It comes with three attachments: a turbo concentrator (for straight styles), a quicksmooth brush (for volumizing styles) and a frizz-fighting finishing tool.
The hair dryer prioritizes hair and scalp health, too. The SpeedStyle Pro has IQ technology, which auto-adjusts each accessory to an ideal temperature and airflow, ensuring that it never exceeds 230 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent heat damage, according to the brand. The tool also has a scalp shield mode, which adjusts air temperature to protect the scalp from extreme heat.
Shark SpeedStyle ProFlex
Much like the SpeedStyle Pro, this tool quickly and efficiently dries your hair while minimizing heat damage to your hair and scalp with the help of the same technology. However, unlike the Pro, this ProFlex is suitable for all hair types and styles, reflected in its four attachments. It comes with a concentrator, volumizing brush, finishing tool and diffuser to define curls and dry them from the root to the ends, according to the brand. The ProFlex version of the SpeedStyle also has a foldable compact design so you can easily travel with it.
Vegamour Gro+ Advanced System
The products part of Vegamour’s Gro line are among our favorite thinning hair treatments, and the brand just released a new collection that’s specifically formulated for those with scalp concerns and severe shedding. It includes a shampoo and conditioner that balances, hydrates and exfoliates the scalp, a hair serum and a scalp dermaroller. For the best results, like reduced breakage, less hair loss, volume and hair growth, Vegamour recommends applying these products daily for three to four months.
Virtue Flourish Thickening Styling Treatment
This thickening treatment from Virtue, which is suitable for fine and thinning hair, coats strands for added volume and moisture and has a thickening effect. The leave-in treatment also acts as a heat protectant and helps maintain hair integrity, shape and health even after using hot tools, according to the brand. It can do so thanks to its blend of densifying ingredients, including rice and corn starch (adds volume and hold), mushroom tremella (to plump the hair and hydrate) and larch wood extract (strengthens the hair).
Aveda Invati Ultra Advanced Hair Care Collection
Aveda just launched its Invati Ultra Advanced hair care line, a multi-step solution for all types of thinning hair. The products are meant to reduce hair loss, fortify and thicken hair by up to 11% with the help of botanical ingredients that focus on protecting the hair and improving follicle energy for overall support, according to the brand. The collection includes an exfoliating shampoo, conditioner, scalp serum, leave-in treatment and thickening foam.
IGK Disco Disco
According to the brand, this new lightweight, clear finishing spray is great for those who want to enhance their hair’s shine, gloss and color and prevent color fading. The spray is made for all hair types and protects hair from UV damage and environmental aggressors like pollution, static, and heat.
Freewill Hair Care
Freewill is a new customizable hair care brand co-developed with Sally Beauty. The launch includes seven lines: Scalp & Detox, Volume Boost, Smooth & Frizz Free, Restorative Repair, Color Repair, Blonde Reserve and Curls & Coils. The brand released 32 products, like shampoos, conditioners, texturizing treatments, hair oils and creams.
Before the launch, Freewill sent the NBC Select staff multiple products for different hair types. “My favorite was definitely the blowout cream because it did what it said it would and more,” says Alvarez. “I noticed my hair had less frizz after my blowout, my volume was still intact and my hair felt silkier.”
Act + Acre Daily Hydro Scalp Serum
Suitable for those with normal to dry scalps, this daily leave-in can be used as a preventative measure to combat scalp concerns since its two main ingredients (multi-molecular hyaluronic acid and amino acids) keep the scalp hydrated. According to the brand, this lightweight, non-greasy serum relieves dry scalp, improves the scalp barrier, and supports its overall health while also helping strengthen hair.
Oribe Mirror Rinse Glass Hair Treatment
This hair essence smoothes your cuticles to create a soft and glossy finish without weighing it down, regardless of hair texture and type. After using the weekly treatment in the shower (after shampooing, use this in place of your conditioner, or if you have thicker, dry hair, use it after conditioner), your hair is softer, hydrated and easier to manage. The effects of using this rinse can last up to 15 washes, according to Oribe.
Color Wow Youth Juice Collagen Scalp Serum
Color Wow’s newest scalp serum is great for hair prone to thinning, shedding or breaking because it targets hair at the root and creates an ideal scalp environment for thicker and stronger hair by promoting collagen production. According to the brand, it also helps reduce shedding up to 90% in just 28 days after daily use.
Dyson Chitosan Hair Styling Products
Dyson makes some of our favorite hot tools, including hair dryers and curling irons. The brand recently expanded into hair care products with their Chitosan styling products — Dyson Chitosan Pre-Style Cream and the Dyson Chitosan Post-Style Serum. Both products have chitosan (a complex macromolecule derived from oyster mushrooms) and the brand’s technology so that your hair can hold styles but with movement and shine.
The pre-style cream (which has a cream-to-serum formulation) has heat protection and reduces frizz. It’s available in four options — straight to wavy light conditioning, straight to wavy rich conditioning, curly to coily light conditioning and curly to coily rich conditioning — making it suitable for all hair textures and needs. The post-style serum is a lightweight anti-frizz and humidity serum that repairs damage, softens hair and defines styles for all hair textures and types.
Olaplex No. 5 Leave-In Moisture & Mend Leave-In Conditioner
Olaplex’s latest hair care product is a leave-in conditioner that moisturizes, repairs and seals split ends. It’s generally best for those with dry hair, but anyone can use it. The leave-in also acts as a heat protectant, shielding your strands from damage up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Malin has been trying Olaplex’s leave-in conditioner for about two weeks (the brand sent it to her). “Most leave-in conditioners are too thin for my curly hair and don’t impact it much,” she says. “But as I used my fingers to comb Olaplex’s through my curls, I could feel how much softer it made my hair. When my hair dried, my curls looked much less frizzy and more tame due to the added moisture. I’m definitely going to keep this in my hair care routine.”
Apparel and footwear launches
Brooks Ghost Max 2
We love Brooks’ original Ghost Max sneaker, and the brand just updated the shoe for the first time since it launched in September 2023. It now has nitrogen-infused foam in its midsole, which pairs with the outsole’s rocker shape to decrease how much pressure you feel under your feet when you land, according to Brooks. The Ghost Max 2 has a broad base that helps stabilize your feet and ankles. It’s available in men’s and women’s sizes, and you can wear it while walking and running.
Adidas Ultraboost 5X
The 5X is the newest addition to its Adidas Ultraboost collection. At between eight and nine ounces (depending on the size), it weighs 34 grams less than the brand’s Ultraboost Light shoe, yet has 9 more millimeters of foam to cushion feet. The shoe’s midsole bounces back to its original shape as your foot hits the ground while running, which helps you run faster without exerting more energy, according to the brand. The Ultraboost 5X has a knit upper that’s breathable to cool off feet, and it’s available in men’s and women’s sizes. Adidas also debuted the Ultraboost 5 as part of this launch. However, the 5X is more widely available in the U.S.
Reebok Nano Gym Training Shoes
Reebok’s new sneakers have the look and feel of a running shoe but the support and stability of a training shoe, making them a great hybrid option for people who cross-train. Their upper is made from mesh, which allows for ventilation, and the heel has a stability cradle to keep it in place. The Nano Gym Training Shoes’ rubber outsole makes them durable and adds traction on different surfaces.
You can purchase these sneakers in men’s and women’s sizes. Each model’s upper shape differs to best complement men’s or women’s feet. The women’s shoe has a bootie-like shape with molded plush foam for a soft and supportive feel, while the men’s shoe has a traditional low-profile training shoe shape.
Knix Pursuit Training Collection
Knix expanded its activewear collection with the Pursuit Training line, which includes multiple pieces to support you during low, medium and high-impact workouts. Notably, the Pursuit Leakproof Training Legging and Training Short each have a built-in liner that gives you an additional layer of protection if you’re on your period. You can also purchase the Pursuit Training Collection’s Medium Impact Sports Bra, HiTouch Active Contour Tank and Training Jacket.
Allbirds Tree Glider
Allbirds’ newest sneaker is designed for those with an active lifestyle who want their gym shoes to double as their everyday shoes. The Tree Glider has a breathable nit upper and lightweight, plush midsole to keep feet comfortable. It’s also made with foam created from plant-based materials and a grippy outsole. You can purchase the shoes in men’s and women’s sizes.
Hoka Transport Chukka GTX
Hoka transformed its original Transport lifestyle sneaker into a water-resistant bootie-style shoe. The Transport Chukka GTX is made from durable nubuck leather with a soft knit collar, sock liner and reflective details. Thanks to its gripper rubber outsole, the shoe can support you on trails or keep your feet comfortable as you walk around all day. It’s available in men’s and women’s sizes.
Travel launches
Away Featherlight
The bags in Away’s Featherlight collection are made from a lightweight, soft fabric that’s water-resistant, durable and easy to wipe clean, according to the brand. You can purchase a standard and large crossbody bag; a large tote; a standard and large backpack; and a sling bag. All items have organizational features like pockets for valuables, laptops and water bottles and trolley sleeves. Away’s Featherlight bags are suitable for daily use, but they also all pack flat so you can throw them in your suitcase while traveling.
Cotopaxi Allpa Travel Pack
For the past eight years, Cotopaxi’s Allpa Travel Packs have been the brand’s bestseller — they recently got an update. The new packs are made from 100% recycled fabrics and have mesh shoulder straps, an exterior stretch water bottle pocket, a luggage sleeve and better weight distribution. However, they still have all the features that made them customer favorites in the first place, including a suitcase-style opening and internal organizational pockets. You can purchase the upgraded Allpa Travel Pack in 20-liter, 28-liter, 35-liter and 42-liter sizes.
Calpak Fit Collection
Calpak’s bags, suitcases and backpacks are among our favorite travel gear, and now the brand is entering the fitness space with a gym bag and dopp kit.
Calpak The Fit Gym Bag
The Fit Gym Bag has a spacious interior with organizational pockets, an X-shaped elastic band that holds your water bottle and a key clip. The bag also has a trolley pass-through, and you can carry it by its padded, adjustable shoulder strap or double carrying handle. The bag’s most notable feature, however, is its adjustable yoga mat straps. “I used to take multiple bags to yoga class after work, including a bag with my yoga mat, a bag with my workout clothes and my work tote,” says Malin (the brand sent her a bag to try). “But now, I can throw everything I need for work and yoga into the Fit Gym Bag, and attach my mat, which makes carrying it so easy. This bag is a game-changer for me.”
Calpak The Fit Dopp Hanging Kit
Calpak’s hanging dopp kit is a small toiletry bag with a built-in hook, allowing you to hang it up to easily see what’s inside. The bag has a clear detachable pouch, multiple mesh interior pockets and elastic loops that hold products in place.

Keurig K-Brew+Chill
The K-Brew+Chill is a single-serve machine that makes hot and iced coffee with your favorite K-Cup Pods. It’s built with a Chill Tank that rapidly cools coffee after brewing it so it’s cold when the machine dispenses it into your cup over ice. You can make six, eight, 10 and 12 ounces of hot or cold coffee, and select the strong brew option if you prefer a more intense flavor. The coffee maker has a 70-ounce removable water reservoir with a handle, which makes it easy to refill.
Ninja Luxe Café
The Ninja Luxe Café is an espresso, coffee and cold brew machine in one, plus it has a built-in, conical burr grinder and a dual milk frothing system. The machine holds your hand through the brewing process by offering customized grind size and dosing suggestions depending on the drink you’re making, as well as automatically adjusting temperature and pressure settings as needed. With this appliance, you can make double and quad espresso shots; six to 18 ounces of classic, rich and over-ice coffee; and six to 18 ounces of cold brew or cold-pressed espresso. The dual milk frothing system also lets you choose whether you want steamed milk, a thin froth, a thick froth or cold foam for your beverage.
Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock (pre-order)
This 2-in-1 Roomba robot vacuum and mop is iRobot’s most advanced model yet. It can clean carpets and hard floors like wood and tile and quickly transitions between mopping and vacuuming modes. On hard floors, the Roomba vacuums and mops at the same time. Then, when it detects carpet, the device lifts its mop pad to keep the area dry while continuing to vacuum. When it’s done cleaning, the Roomba returns to its dock, which acts as a charger; automatically empties dirt and debris into an enclosed bag; refills the mopping solution tank; and automatically washes and dries the mop pad.
The Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot has sensors that create a detailed map of your home to recognize rooms and avoid obstacles. It’s also designed with a built-in camera that finds dirt to prioritize which room to clean first. You can pair the Roomba with a companion app to set schedules and start one-off cleans and control it via voice commands since it’s compatible with Amazon Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant-enabled devices.
Melissa & Doug Ocean Oasis Easy Fold Play Gym
This ocean-themed play gym is the first from Melissa & Doug. It’s composed of a double-sided, machine-washable sensory play mat and wide wooden arches. There’s also a button on the arches that helps them collapse when you want to fold them flat for storage. The play gym comes with five washable toys that you can attach to the arches’ meeting point, each of which is specific to a different age: soft turtle and octopus (0+ months), soft crab (2+ months), sensory sea star (3+ months) and manta ray (4+ months). The play gym is best for babies ages birth to nine months, according to the brand.
Melissa & Doug sent Becca Delman, NBC senior photo editor, its new play gym, which she’s excited to use with her baby, due this fall. “As a huge fan of Melissa & Doug toys for my toddler, I was thrilled to hear they were coming out with a new play gym,” she says. “Some of my friends’ new babies have tested the mat and they love the quality and material. The size of the mat is perfect for a new baby and the colorful toys were exciting for the babies to interact with during tummy time.”
Beauty Sleep mattresses
Beauty Sleep is a new mattress brand from Beautyrest that offers two collections: the Dream Weaver Quilted Innerspring Collection and Dream Weaver Hybrid Collection. Beauty Sleep’s mattresses are designed with the same pocketed coil technology that Beautyrest has, plus a quilted pillow top and different types of foam that support your body overnight while keeping you cool. Mattresses are available in twin to California king sizes.

Smeg launched two new kitchen appliances this month.
Smeg Countertop Air Fry Oven with Steam
This air fry oven offers 10 cooking functions like air fry, grill, warm and defrost, as well as 33 programmed recipes. The mini oven has a 104 to 445-degree Fahrenheit temperature range, and its steam technology helps it maintain even heat distribution. It has two grill racks, one enamel tray and one perforated tray.
Smeg Contemporary Kitchen Scale
The rechargeable digital scale can help you weigh up to 11 pounds of ingredients. It has an LED display, showing you readings in grams, milliliters, pounds or ounces. You can remove the scale’s stainless steel bowl from its base, making it easy to clean.
Pet launches
Wild One Plush Toys
Wild One is one of our favorite pet brands, and its first line of plush dog toys will keep your pup entertained. The collection includes the Chew Chain, which dogs can play tug-of-war with, and the Tennis Tuft, a stack of crinkly, squeaky fabrics that dogs have to dig a tennis ball out of. Each toy is made from sherpa, corduroy and fluff materials, offering different textures to stimulate pups’ senses. Wild One recommends the toys you can buy individually or as a set for light to moderate chewers.
