Paul Harrell, popular YouTube firearms educator, dies at 58

Harrell announced his death in a posthumous video posted on his YouTube channel.

Paul Harrell, a YouTube creator who reviewed guns and educated viewers on firearms, has died. He was 58.

Harrell announced his own death in a posthumously uploaded YouTube video titled "I'm Dead."

The cause was pancreatic cancer. Harrell had previously shared his diagnosis with his subscribers in a video posted on July 2023.

In his video, which was filmed in December 2023, Harrell explained that while the cancer had been caught early, it had started to spread to his bones.

He had three final requests of his followers: to continue to support his channel, Patreon, as his brother and crew who take over it, to avoid any pirated versions of his content, and to disengage with content creators who "denigrate" him online.

"To everyone who has watched, hit the like or dislike icon, commented, shared, subscribed and donated on Patreon, thank you," he said in the video. "All of those things support the channel greatly and I can't even begin to articulate how beneficial and appreciated those things are."

He added that he hoped his reviews and educational videos helped his subscribers learn more about firearms and save money on them.

"I'm really glad to have had this opportunity to do all the stuff that we've done," he said. "I really hope that it's been helpful. I really appreciate you watching, commenting and participating."

Roy Harrell, Paul's brother, shared at the end of the death announcement that he would continue to post on the channel.

"It was his wish that I maintain his legacy through this channel by continuing to put out high quality educational content with the flair we all know and love from him," Roy Harrell said.
